"Mother?" Maririna cried.
The Drowess, that her father had arranged for her to meet, glared at her, "Why do you seek me, halfling?
"I only wish to know you, Mother," Maririna sighed. "To look upon your face and see myself."
"I don't wish to know you, halfling!" The Drowess scoffed, "And curse that man for letting you live."
Maririna sobbed, "Why, Mother, why did you wish my death?"
The Drowess growled, "You were never meant to be. You were merely too much spiced wine."
"Please, Mother, let's not be like this." Maririna extended her hand, "Let us be friends."
This is my submission to
Drow Ambition Contest.
Half Drow Maririna always had the goal of meeting her birth mother. With the help of her father, she has finally attained that goal.
