I've been debating on going to see the movie. I need a really good movie to scare the bejesus out of me
You see, I've nearly watched ever horror/scary/mind trick playing/goriest movies made and well...some of them just strike me as plain arse hilarious as ya know.
I mean...come on, not every single woman in the movie needs to act like a wimpy, lustful girlie girl, screaming at every shadow, gust of wind, or fleck of dust, or be the stereotypical "butch" that talks tough but winds up being one of the first to go. Nor do they all have to be a bunch of rebellious teenagers on some partying hiking/camping/making-out adventure in some desolate area where the authorities are portrayed as some dumb country hillbillies that never got an education. Which seems to be a common theme in many of the b-class horror flicks.
And well...the continuous sequels just take away the appeal of certain movies, say for instance...SAW. Just how many times are the police going to find some discreet location, designed to be a murderous torture chamber with all sorts of devilish devices and mangled bodies strewn to and fro to rescue the key few that sit through the entire movie, wailing on and on about how they don't have any blooming idea of how to get out of the situation while some mechanical puppet laughs at & taunts them with cryptic clues to their own rescue.

Granted, the first one was an eye catcher...perfect; it got a few gasps and look aways out of me the first time I saw it. After that, it didn't really strike me in the same way. Two was ok...three, four, five...well...I couldn't stop laughing as I was thinking it was getting just as bad as the Michael Meyers, Jason, and Freddie Krueger movies, and I've just rather not go see six.
But I digress, back to Paranormal Activity.
Has anyone seen it?
Is it as frighteningly and terrifyingly good as they claim it is?
For instance, if I do venture into a movie theater and see it, will it cause me to leave fingernail impressions in the plastic armrest/cup-holders? Or is this one to leave to watch on DVD?
